"Efforts should be made for increasing the volume of trade and business between Bangladesh and Mongolia alongside deepening the bilateral relations," she said.
The Prime Minister expressed this view when Mongolian non-resident Ambassador to Bangladesh Gonching Ganbold paid a courtesy call on her at her Jatiya Sangsad Office here this afternoon.
After the meeting, PM's Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim briefed reporters.
The Premier urged the Mongolian entrepreneurs to invest in Bangladesh's potential sectors in the greater interests of the two countries.
In this connection, she said her government has ensured an investment-friendly atmosphere in Bangladesh by offering various facilities to the investors.
She also called upon the Mongolian government to import more goods, especially food items, from Bangladesh apart from jute and pharmaceutical products.
In this regard, the ambassador pointed out that Mongolia imports a huge quantity of jute and pharmaceutical products from Bangladesh every year.
Mentioning that upcoming 11th Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) to be held in Mongolia is very important, the Prime Minister said that bilateral ties with the countries which will participate in the meeting would be strengthened further through it.
Sheikh Hasina conveyed her best wishes to the Mongolian president and the prime minister through the ambassador.
The Mongolian envoy termed bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Mongolia as "historic" and hoped that the ties would be further consolidated in the years to come.
He said that his government is very happy to know that a high-level Bangladesh delegation led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina would join the ASEM summit.
"We're eagerly waiting to welcome the Bangladesh delegation headed by the Premier," he said.
Prime Minister's Office Secretary Suraiya Begum was present at the meeting.
Mongolia will host the 11th Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) of Heads of State and Government (ASEM11) in its capital Ulaanbaatar on July 15-16 in 2016.
