Under the project, 191 kilometer bituminous road, 23 kilometer earth way, 711 meter bridges, 15 mosques, seven temples, 12 hat-bazzar, four graveyards and three crematories would be constructed in addition to digging 11 kilometer canal and 230 meter slope protection wall.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today said this in reply to a question from Jatiya Party member Qazi Firoz Rashid during Prime Minister's question answer session in the parliament.

To ensure access of the enclave people to safe drinking water and sanitation, the prime minister said approval of a project of Taka 9.50 crore is under process. To meet the challenge on emergency basis, the government has given a special allocation of Taka 46 lakh, she said.

Informing the house about the plans and programmes of her government for development of the enclaves and employment and welfare of the people, the prime minister said various ministries have taken special plans in this regard.

Educational qualification for enclave people to join the Bangladesh Border Guard has been reduced from higher secondary to secondary level, she said.

The prime minister said the inhabitants of the defunct enclaves are proud people of Bangladesh, and the present government is firmly committed to ensure development there.

Sheikh Hasina said during her visit to Kurigram on October 15, 2015, she talked to the people of the enclaves openly and joined them in their happiness. She said her government would take all measures for development of the defunct enclaves.
