Awami League’s Electricity Coverage Brings About Electrifying Public Happiness: Survey

The survey, jointly conducted by MIDAS and Power Cell, was based on interviews of 15,000 people who receive the electricity service under three government companies –BREB, DPDC and WZPDC- across the country.

The findings show, the country’s electricity management system has gained some landmark attainment as 72.33% countrymen termed the present service as good over the past.

In addition, 57.2% people believed that the government has reshaped and developed the distribution management system.

A staggering 85.66% -- rural and urban—admitted of receiving power supply with no disruption, reveals the survey.

Astonishingly, 100% framers in rural areas said that they received electricity during the irrigation time, showing another testament to the government’s policies.

Majority of Bangladeshis, according to the survey, have found major changes, the government has introduced over the years, including the digitization of the bill payment system, have made the payment system hassle-free and much to their convenience.

Sixty nine percent of the respondents dubbed the online system for bill payment introduced by the government as “good” while 73.33% Bangladeshis are happy with receiving bill before the payment deadline.

With an unprecedented level of improvement in the power supply, the survey came up with the remarks that customer satisfaction over power supply has been uplifted.

The survey is yet another testament to the never-seen-before rise in public confidence in the government’s efforts undertaken to make the promise of electricity for all by 2021 a reality.
