Published on March 10, 2015The RADP is 25 per cent more compared to the amount of the previous fiscal year. The original ADP outlay of current fiscal is Taka 80,314 crore while the RADP of the previous fiscal was Taka 60,000 crore.
The approval came at the meeting of the National Economic Council (NEC), the highest economic policy making body, held at the NEC conference room at city's Sher-e-Banglanagar with its chairperson and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.
Planning Minister A H M Mustafa Kamal, after the meeting, told the reporters that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had allocated additional amount of Taka 3,000 crore to the estimated RADP of Taka 72,000 crore. "With this additional amount, the revised ADP outlay stood at Taka 75,000 crore," he added.
He said the Prime Minister approved the additional allocation considering the demand of the Ministries, which would be borne from the national exchequer.
Power Division, Ministry of LGRD as well as Water Resources, Defense, CHT Affairs, Education, Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges, Health, Law, Justice and Parliament Affairs and Home Affairs have demanded additional allocation in the RADP.
"The additional allocation would be given to the concerned Ministries and Divisions considering their demand and utilization capacities," said Mustafa Kamal.
According to the revised ADP, the government's contribution to the ADP stood at Taka 50,100 crore, while foreign assistance to Taka 24,900 crore.
The total number of projects in the RADP rose to 1,204 from 1,187 in the original ADP. Out of the 1,204 projects, there are some 1014 investment ones while 169 technical ones and 21 from Japan Debt Cancellation Fund (JDCF).
The RADP also includes some 605 projects as new unapproved ones in the green page while some 356 projects without allocation subject to the availability of foreign assistance.
Besides, the revised ADP kept some 280 probable projects to be completed in the current fiscal year including 241 investment projects, 28 technical assistance projects and 11 from the JDCF. The Revised ADP kept an allocation of Taka 2,187 crore for the ICT sector.
Meanwhile, the government included a total of 18 projects, with a number of road and transport projects in the revised ADP, to be implemented under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) initiative.
Apart from the revised ADP, the Planning Minister also released the ADP implementation status of July-February period of the current fiscal year. A total of 38 per cent of the ADP has been implemented compared to 36 per cent the same period of the previous fiscal year. During the period, some Taka 32,381 crore was disbursed.
Mustafa Kamal said although there were apprehension regarding the utilization of ADP in the wake of current political turmoil, the implementation status is excellent considering the current performance.
Besides ministers and State Ministers, the meeting was attended by Planning Commission members and concerned secretaries .
