Germany pledged the funds during a meeting on development cooperation between the two governments, which concluded here yesterday.
Wolfram Klein, head of the South Asia division of the German economic cooperation and development ministry, and Mansur Md Faizullah, additional secretary (Europe wing) of the finance ministry, led the delegations.
The German funds will be available for three priority areas that include renewable energies and energy efficiency, good governance and human rights, and climate change adaptation in urban areas, the statement said.
Germany's geosciences institute BGR, development agency GIZ, and development bank KfW are involved in implementation.
Since 1972, Germany has contributed more than €2 billion to the bilateral development cooperation with Bangladesh.
