Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's Information and Technology Advisor Sajeeb Wazed Joy has posted a video clip on his verified Facebook page about the funding of militants during the BNP-Jamaat government.

In the video shared on Wednesday, he alleged that the BNP leaders used to send money to militants through the hands of the police.

In the video, Sajib Wazed said that in 2001 immediately after the formation of the BNP-Jamaat government, they started to kill and torture Awami League leaders and activists and carried out extortion, loot and rape incidents. They even gave money and lists to extremist militant organizations to carry out killing incidents across the country.

Under the guidance of Tarique Rahman, Khaleda Zia's government was maintaining contact with militants through eight leaders of BNP, said Joy.

He further said: “Even due to the pressure of the ministers, many members of the police force were forced to cooperate with the militants. BNP government leaders used to send money safely to militants through the hands of the police. Even if police arrested these JMB militants, they were forced to release them under the pressure of the government.”

“Or a special order came from a higher level of the government to grant them bail from the court,” he said.
