Awami League pays homage to martyrs of 21st August Grenade attack

The Bangladesh Awami League has paid rich tributes to the victims of the August 21 grenade attack in 2004. 

The leaders led by AL general secretary Obaidul Quader paid the tribute by placing wreaths at a makeshift memorial, built in memory of the victims of the grenade attack, in front of Awami League’s central office on Bangabandhu Avenue in Dhaka on Saturday morning. 

Later, the Dhaka Metropolitan South and North units of the Awami League,  Krishak League, Sramik League, Chhatra League, Matsyajibi League, Swechchhasebak League, Juba League, Bangabandhu Cultural Alliance and other social-cultural and professional organisations placed wreaths at the memorial. 

Matia Chowdhury, Dr Abdur Razzak, Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Abdur Rahman, Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif, Dr Hasan Mahmud, Ahmad Hossain, BM Mozammel Haque, Mirza Azam and others were present among the senior leaders of the Awami League.
