Mujib Barsha Webinar lauds Bangabandhu’s leadership strengths, Sheikh Hasina’s development focus

Speakers and guests have lauded the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s leadership strengths and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s politics of development at a webinar titled, ‘Liberation of Bangladesh and the Dream of Sonar Bangla’. The webinar was organised by the Bangladesh Embassy in Amman, Jordan as part of the ‘Mujib Barsha Webinar Series’.

Bangladesh’s Foreign Minister Dr. A K Abdul Momen MP was the Chief Guest, while the Palestinian Foreign Minister Dr. Riad Maliki attended as the Special Guest. Dr. Momen gave a historical overview of the struggle of Bangalees for their independence led by Bangabandhu with the necessary contexts. He also noted how the unfinished work of Bangabandhu are now being adopted and put into action by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. He also spoke on the urgency of the repatriation of the Rohingyas to their homeland in Myanmar.

The Palestinian Foreign Minister Dr. Maliki expressed his high respect for Bangabandhu while lauding the model of inclusive development championed by Bangabandhu and now being successfully implemented by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. He wholeheartedly appreciated the unflinching support Bangabandhu always afforded to the Palestinians and their aspirations for statehood, a policy which has been strongly maintained by his daughter Sheikh Hasina.

The session, moderated by Bangladesh’s Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen, was addressed by Mofidul Huq, Trustee of the Liberation War Museum, and Barrister Shah Ali Farhad, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister. Barrister Farhad made a presentation at the session titled, ‘From Father to Daughter: The Journey of Sonar Bangla’, which highlighted how Premier Sheikh Hasina is continuing the unfinished tasks of Bangabandhu’s visions for a “Shonar Bangla” as well as her future plans and aspirations for Bangladesh. A video on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s development successes titled, ‘The Leader We Needed’, was also screened.

Nahida Sobhan, Ambassador of Bangladesh to Jordan, made the opening remarks and delivered the vote of thanks. In her introductory speech, the Ambassador mentioned that the history of Bangladesh’s independence is associated with the life and leadership of our Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. She added that Bangabandhu is not with us anymore, but, we have carried forward his dream as led by his able daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Ambassador Sobhan noted that the mission intends to arrange a series of webinars on various aspects of the Father of the Nation’s life and struggles as part of the Embassy’s plans for Mujib Barsha. Former Member of the Jordanian Senate Dr. Sausan Majali, ambassadors of various countries to Jordan, including Bahrain, Russia, and Afghanistan, as well as high officials of the Jordanian Foreign Ministry, were also in attendance.
