Published on December 19, 2017Dhaka and Ankara has signed two memorandum of understanding (MoUs) to strengthen economic cooperation between the two countries.
The MoUs were signed following bilateral talks between the two countries at Prime Minister's Office (PMO) on Tuesday in presence of the two prime ministers.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and visiting Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim led the respective sides in the bilateral talks.
Of the two deals, one MoU was signed for giving recognition on quality control of goods while another one for strengthening cooperation for flourishing small and medium scale enterprises.
Managing Director of SME Foundation of Bangladesh Shafiqul Islam and Prof Dr Cevahir UZKURT, president of KOSGEB, (Small and Medium Enterprises Development Organisation of Turkey) signed the MoU on development of Small and Medium Enterprises.
While Director General of Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution Sardar Abul Kalam and Sebahittin KORKNAZ, president of Turkish Standard Institution signed the MoU on cooperation in the areas of quality control of goods.
Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim arrived in Dhaka on Monday on a two- day official visit to Bangladesh.
