Published on March 24, 2014March 26, obviously it is the final spark of the history of exploring Bengali Nationalism. Let’s have a glance about the miracle and milestone.
…..When politically we won the election and logically we deserved the power to rule the Pakistan, they, the army and the defeated opposition leaders of Pakistan, denied handing over the power to our elected leader Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Rather, smashing down the democracy and humanity, they carried on conspiracy to attack the arms-less and general people of the then east-Pakistan, in the name of meeting after meeting. Finally Bangabandhu understood their motive of not to have a proper solution but conspiracy.
Previously, On March 07, Bangabandhu directed the people to be ready to face any kind of challenges and hurdles for establishing the rights against the Pakistan occupation army. In the name of a meeting, Pakistani generals and politicians fetched ammunitions and soldiers to attack the people of the then East-Pakistan. Bangabandhu understood everything but as a talent leader he was waiting for the best period of time for declaring independent.
In this short period of time, Pakistani soldiers finally drafted their blue print to carry on massacre. In the dark night of March 25, 1971, suddenly Pakistani politicians flied back and the soldiers came out from the barrack with tanks and heavy arms. Their aim was to occupy Dhaka city by March 26. But every of their evil attempts went null and void because of the instant but historical decision of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
When Pakistani Army started bloodshed in the roads, houses, mosques and educational institutions of Dhaka city, Bangabandhu was being prepared to declare the independence. Both of the historical events run together. Pakistani army started killing indiscriminately and people of Bangladesh were also eagerly waiting for the final directives of Bangabandhu to protest the attackers. In this situation, Attacker soldiers also cordoned and arrested Bangabandhu. But before his arrest, Bangabandhu played his final game of declaring the independence. Bangabandhu had left a message by a written statement before he was arrested.
In the written statement he stated that: ‘This may be my last message, from today Bangladesh is independent. I call upon the people of Bangladesh wherever you might be and with whatever you have, to resist the army of occupation to the last. Your fight must go on until the last soldier of the Pakistan occupation army is expelled from the soil of Bangladesh and final victory is achieved’.
Just after getting the news of Bangabandhu’s final declaration of independence, Protest war was started with the simple bamboo sticks against the heavy ammunition of Pakistani occupy army. Within a few days, people of every age and profession of Bangladesh got involved with the war to save the motherland and uphold the dignity. As a result, just after an only nine-month-war we achieved our highly desired but costly independence.
