Published on April 6, 2017Sheikh Hasina put the emphasis when a delegation of Czech Republic now in Dhaka to attend the IPU Conference made a courtesy call on her at her office on Wednesday.
Recalling the Czech support to Bangladesh's liberation war the Prime Minister laid importance on avoidance of double taxation, forging economic cooperation and defense cooperation with Czech Republic to further strengthen the bilateral relations between the two countries.
Delegation leader Grospic MP led the delegation.
Briefing reporters after the meeting PM's Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim said Prime Minister extended her thanks to the Czech delegation for coming to Bangladesh to attend the IPU.
She also recalled Czechoslovakia's support to the War of Liberation of Bangladesh and underscored the need for reviving the old relations between the two countries.
Mentioning her government's plan to set up 100 Special Economic Zones across the country the Prime Minister urged the Czech entrepreneurs to come forward to invest in the economic zones.
Enough facilities and opportunities would be there for making investment by the Czech investors, she said laying emphasis on further improving the business relations between the two countries.
In response, Grospic MP said, Bangladesh has made amazing development under Prime Minister's leadership with achieving more than 7 percent GDP growth. He offered technical cooperation from Czech Republic to Bangladesh.
Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury, PMO Senior Secretary Suraiya Begum and Honorary Consul of Czech Republic in Bangladesh ASM Mohiuddin Monem were present among others.
