The minister said this while briefing the journalists emerging from the ECNEC meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair. Ten projects are new and five are revised ones, he added.
Kamal said the meeting approved the demand-based government primary school development project involving Taka 9,123.85 crore and newly nationalized government primary school development project involving Taka 5,740.59 crore to construct 65 thousand classrooms across.
The government is implementing the projects to ensure quality education for fulfilling the number four targets of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), he added.
He said Rajshahi University physical infrastructure project has also got ECNEC approval with a cost of Taka 363.87 crore. It also approved strengthening of education engineering authority project involving Tk Taka 363.87 crore.
Rajshahi hi tech park establishment project will be implemented at a cost of Taka 238.25 crore, he said, adding that the meeting also approved a project to build permanent concrete bridges to replace risky bridges under Munshiganj Roads Authority involving Taka 147.82 crore.
The other approved projects are: construction of Bangabandhu military museum with Taka 276 crore, construction and expansion of hostel for visually impaired people with Taka 60.66 crore, Chittagong City outer ring road project with Taka 2,426.15 crore, water supply in 37 district towns with Taka 899 crore, construction of connecting road from Dhaka trunk road to Bayazid Bastami, including a loop road in the out portion of Asian University for Women with Taka 320.04 crore, construction of RCC retaining wall beside the 11 "Choras" in Sylhet City Corporation with Taka 236.40 crore, Guchchhogram (Cluster) project (second phase) with Taka 941.81 crore, infrastructure development of the national information and communication technology project (phase three) with Taka 1,999.49 crore and construction of dual fuel combined cycle 330-megawatt power plant project in Khulna with Taka 3,253.76 crore.
Ministers, State Ministers and Planning Commission members and secretaries concerned were present, among others.
