Published on August 2, 2016The approval came at a meeting of the ECNEC held in the NEC conference room in the city's Sher-e-Bangla Nagar with ECNEC Chairperson and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.
"Of the total project cost, the government will provide Taka 1,430.77 crore from the national exchequer while the organizations concerned Taka 57.37 crore," State Minister for Finance and Planning MA Mannan told newsmen after the meeting.
The ECNEC today cleared the house building project for women prison guards with Taka 93.97 crore to be implemented by June 2019.
Mannan said the project has been taken to enhance the facilities of prison guards as the number of prisoners have been increased recently.
Under the project, 14 new buildings will be constructed in 14 districts and extended the upper portion of the existing building in 26 districts.
The other approved projects are Rural infrastructure development project in Jamalpur and Sherpur districts with Taka 388.81 crore, construction of 11 secondary schools and six university colleges in the Dhaka city with Taka 293.05 crore, Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University (HSTU) development Project with Taka 156.84 crore, Patuakhali Science and Technology University further development project with Taka 120.05 crore, a project for setting up five Institutes of Marine Technology establishment in Munshiganj, Faridpur, Chandpur, Sirajganj and Bagerhat districts with Taka 244.18 crore and road and drain construction and reconstruction and tree plantation project in Narayanganj City Corporation with Taka 191.24 crore.
Ministers and state ministers attended the meeting. Planning Commission members and concerned secretaries were present.
