The approval was given at a NICAR meeting held at Bangladesh Secretariat here on Monday with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.
Briefing reporters after the meeting, Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam said the NICAR has decided to upgrade Madhabdi Police Investigation Centre under Sadar upazila in Narsingdi district as a full-fledged police station.
The NICAR also took a decision to elevate Mohipur Police Investigation Centre (adjacent to Kuakata sea beach) under Kalapara upazila in Patuakhali district as a complete police station, he said.
The cabinet secretary said the meeting gave the formal approval to (establishment of) Alfadanga Pourasabha under Alfadanga upazila in Faridpur district. It may be mentioned that the pourasabha started its journey in 2014.
Ministers and secretaries concerned were present in the meeting.
