Published on December 9, 2015The Prime Minister expressed the views when visiting Commander of Sri Lanka Air Force Air Marshal GP Bulathsinghala paid a courtesy call on her at her official Ganobhaban residence here Wednesday evening.
Prime Minister's Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim briefed reporters after the meeting.
Expressing satisfaction over the existing friendly ties between the two countries, Sheikh Hasina said Bangladesh attaches importance to its relations with Sri Lanka.
She said that cooperation between the two friendly countries could be expanded further in agricultural sector.
Expressing satisfaction over the solving of insurgency problems in Sri Lanka, Sheikh Hasina noted that her government has resolved similar problem in the Chittagong Hill Tracts areas through signing a landmark peace accord.
Regarding terrorism, she said that the terrorists have no boundary and no religion.
The Prime Minister conveyed her best regards to the Sri Lankan President and Premier through the Lankan Air Force Commander.
The Lanka Air Chief said that they also want to enhance military cooperation with Bangladesh.
In this connection, he said that many Sri Lankan military officials successfully completed various defence courses in Bangladesh.
PMO Secretary Suraiya Begum, PM's Military Secretary Major General Mia Md Jainul Abedin were present, among others.
