Government trained 915,778 teachers: Primary and Mass Education Minister Mostafizur Rahman

Minister said, under Secondary education Sector Development Project, government trained 453, 863 teachers and officers of secondary and higher secondary level in general and madrassa education. In School-based assessment and performance-based assessment, three thousand 659 teachers were trained.

He said, five lakh 43 thousand head masters, assistant teachers, madrassa teachers, district education officers, upazilla secondary education officers, school management committee members were trained under Teaching Quality Improvement in Secondary Education Project.

In Rangamati and Patuakhali, two thousand 142 teachers were trained to ensure quality teaching in minority and disadvantaged communities. To achieve Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) degree, 14534 teachers received aid assistance.

Minister said, till FY 2013-15, in total 146,759 students from public and 50 private polytechnic institutes have received stipends of 800 taka per month which is worth Taka 1.5 billion.
