Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said this in a meeting with Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Pankaj Saran at her office here on Sunday.
PM's Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim said discussion between the Indian Oil Company and Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation is going on in this regard.
The Prime Minister and the envoy discussed the issues relating to mutual interests and progress of the implementation of the agreements and other decisions taken during high level visits of the two countries.
Sheikh Hasina expressed satisfaction over existing relation with her major neighbouring country as well as smooth and time-bound implementation of the Land Boundary Agreement (LBA) and its protocol on both sides.
In this regard she thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and all members of Indian parliament cutting across party-line for their support to the LBA. She appreciated the leadership of Narendra Modi in this regard.
Sheikh Hasina expressed her confidence that all the remaining steps would be completed just in time.
Sheikh Hasina said her government has initiated massive and comprehensive development programmes in the defunct enclaves to ensure that people of those areas get all civic facilities and amenities. All these programmes are being monitored by Prime Minister Office (PMO), she said.
Appreciating the India's cooperation in Bangladesh's power sector, the Prime Minister said, "We would like to go to the next stage of subregional cooperation in this area."
They also discussed on the construction of Ganges Barrage on the Padma River and the Prime Minister emphasized on developing the barrage under joint venture with India.
Sheikh Hasina said her government has taken due note of India's interest to be involved to the development of the Paira and other deep sea ports in Bangladesh.
Indian envoy said an integrated immigration check post is being set up at Petrapole while an Indian immigration check post is ready for opening at Fulbari of Kurigram district.
PM's advisor on International Affairs Dr Gawher Rizvi and Principal Secretary Abul Kalam Azad were present.
