She will lead a 60-member government delegation comprising a number of ministers and Prime Minister's advisers.
A business delegation would be the members of her entourage during the visit which Bangladesh considers as an important one under the present global perspective.
This summit is very important for Bangladesh as the "Champions of the Earth", the highest environment-related award of the UN and the "ICTs in Sustainable Development Award" would be handed over to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina through colourful functions on the concluding day of the summit, said the minister.
The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) nominated the Bangladesh premier for "Champion of the Earth" for her active and bold leadership role in mitigating the adverse impact of climate change.
Besides, International Telecommunication Union (ITU) awarded the premier the "ICTs in Sustainable Development Award" for her timely initiative for building a digital Bangladesh.
Prime Minister will address the plenary session of "UN Summit for the Adoption of the Post 2015 Development Agenda" on September 27 where she is likely to highlight Bangladesh's priorities and reiterate her country's commitment towards sustainable development targets and government activities to this end.
As part of the summit, the PM will co-chair an interactive dialogue titled "Fostering Sustainable Economic Growth, Transformation and Promoting Sustainable Consumption and Production" with the Prime Minister of Belgium on September 26.
She will also co-chair the High-Level Summit on Peace Operations to be organized by US President Barack Obama on September 28 with the US President and the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, among others.
PM will give her country speech in the general debate of the UN general assembly on September 30 highlighting issues like global peace and security, democracy, good governance, women empowerment, poverty eradication, right of migrant workers, facing climate change and achieving Millennium Development Goals.
Like the previous years, the Prime Minister will give her speech in "Bangla".
The Bangladesh Premier will join the Global Leaders' Meeting on Gender Equality and Women Empowerment at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping on September 27 and Leaders' Summit on Countering ISIL and Violent Extremism to be organized by the US President on September 29.
Sheikh Hasina will also join a function on Moving from MDGs to SDGs: Bangladesh Experience and Expectations on September 29 as the chief guest while high-ranking UN officials and leaders of different countries will participate.
On the sidelines of the general assembly, she will address on "Girls lead the way" of the World Leaders Forum at Columbia University on September 25 and in the same day she will exchange views with the Business Council for International Understanding (BCIU) of the United States of America.
Besides, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will hold bilateral meetings with the heads of state and government of different countries on the fringes of the summit.
