His last Namaz-e-Janaza was held before Asr prayers on the playground of Moulavibazar Government High School where people from all walks of life joined.

Jatiya Sangsad (JS) chief whip ASM Firoz, state minister for social welfare Promode Mankin, other national leaders and officials of Moulvibazar administration were present.

An air force helicopter carrying Syed Mohsin Ali's coffin reached his home town at Moulvibazar stadium at 12:30pm. The body of social welfare minister, who died at a hospital in Singapore on Monday last reached at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Tuesday night. Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith along with the deceased family members received the body.

His body was kept on the premises of Central Shahid Minar in the capital at 8am for paying tribute by people of all walks of life.

Later, the coffin was taken to South Plaza of Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban where President M Abdul Hamid, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, members of Parliament and diplomats paid tribute to the late leader.

His first Namaz-e-Janaza was held on JS premises.

Syed Mohsin Ali was born on December 12, 1948 in Kolkata of West Bengal and passed at the age of 67.

Earlier on September 5, he was taken to Singapore by air-ambulance for better treatment. The minister was admitted to BIRDEM Hospital on September 3 with pneumonia, diabetics and heart-related complexities.

The freedom fighter survived by his wife, three daughters, relatives, party men and well-wishers to mourn his death. During liberation war, he was the commander of CnC (Commander and Conquer) special batch in Sylhet. He sustained bullet injuries in front battle. He was an elected lawmaker from Moulvibazar-3 constituency in 2008 and 2014.

Prior to become Member of Parliament (MP), Mohsin Ali was elected as Moulvibazar Paurashava Chairman for three consecutive terms.
