Chief Information Commissioner Mohammad Faruk submitted the annual report of the commission to the prime minister at her Tejgaon office.
Two other commissioners Nepal Chandra Sarkar and Prof. Dr. Khurshida Begum Sayeed were present.
PM's press secretary Ihsanul Karim said the prime minister appreciated the activities of the commission saying her government fully believes in free flow of information. She also laid importance on dissemination of all information in a transparent manner.
Chief Information Commissioner said a total of 21,000 designated officers are now assigned in the government offices to provide information to the people. He said people mostly are curious to know information about land, health and education sectors.
Mohammad Faruk said people applied for about 70,000 informations last year. People have lodged 1,095 complaints with the commission. Most of the complaints were disposed, he said.
