A VVIP flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying the Prime Minister landed at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Dehli at 7.50 am local time.
Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Bangladesh High Commissioner to New Delhi Syed Moazzem Ali received Sheikh Hasina at the airport.
Bangabandhu's younger daughter Sheikh Rehana, PM's daughter Saima Hossain, Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali, PM's Principal Secretary Md Abul Kalam Azad and Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim are accompanying the Prime Minister.
From the airport, the Prime Minister straight went to Rastrapati Bhaban in the Indian capital.
She will then go to 13 Tal Katra Road residence of Abhijit Mukherjee, son of Pranab Mukherjee, where the body of Suvra Mukherjee has been kept.
Sheikh Hasina will later join the funeral of Suvra Mukherjee to be held at Lodi Road Crematorium in the Indian capital.
She is scheduled to hold a meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his official residence.
Later, Sheikh Hasina will go to Hotel Taj Palace, where she will be staying during her brief visit to New Delhi. Earlier, the Prime Minister left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 6 am.
Foreign Secretary M Shahidul Haque and Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Pankaj Saran were present at the airport to see off the Prime Minister.
Sheikh Hasina will leave New Delhi for Dhaka at 3 pm local time and is expected to arrive at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 6 pm today.
Suvra Mukherjee died of respiratory disease at a New Delhi hospital on Tuesday morning at the age of 74.
