Cabinet Secretary M Musharraf Hossain Bhuiyan said the state minister handed over a letter of ITU Secretary General to the prime minister requesting her to receive the award at a function in New York City on September 26, 2015.
ITU Secretary General said they have selected Bangladesh prime minister for the award in recognition to her contribution towards harnessing the potentials of information and communications technologies for sustainable development.
The award is expected to be handed over to Bangladesh Prime Minister on September 26, 2015 during the UNGA session, the cabinet secretary said.
