The attacks left two people killed and 100 others injured.
On this day in 2005, the banned militant organisation JMB carried out the heinous attacks by blasting some 449 bomb in 63 districts simultaneouslt, except Munshiganj district.
The 30-minute mayhem starting from 11:30am killed one in Chapainawabganj and another in Savar while the injured were from elsewhere in the country.
In the attacks, a total of 161 cases were booked across the country against 660 JMB members and 103 of them have already seen the end.
In a yesterday’s press release, the ruling Awami League blamed the BNP-Jamaat alliance for the bombing, saying the JMB series bomb attacks were part of the terrorism and militancy of the coalition.
Dhaka City unit Awami League will observe today as the anti-terrorism and anti-militancy day. It will hold a discussion at its Bangabandhu Avenue office in the capital this afternoon.
Besides, Sechchasebak League will hold a human chain in front of the national press club.
Chhatra League, the student wing of the ruling party, is going to hold a demonstration at Madhur Canteen on the Dhaka University premises.
