In this regard the Cabinet in its weekly meeting today has given approval to draft of "The Court Fees (Amendment) Act, 2015.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina presided over the meeting held at cabinet room of the Jatiya Sangsad.
Briefing reporters at the Secretariat, Cabinet Secretary M Musharraf Hossain said the e-payment method would reduce huge public expenditure for printing, preservation and transportation of the stamps apart from shrinking public sufferings and curbing forgery.
Any violation of the law would be an offense for six-month imprisonment and penalty of Taka 50,000 which is now only Tk. 500, he said.
In another move the cabinet has given approval to a draft making the "The Value Added Tax (VAT) and Supplementary Duty Act-2012" more flexible raising the limit of annual turnover of companies to Taka 30 lakh from 24 lakh to get VAT exemption.
The draft proposed inclusion of a number of goods in the existing Tafsil of the act which is considered for VAT exemption. The goods are - mustard oil, sugar, sugar-cane molasses, fertilizer, life-saving medicines, insulin and drugs for cancer and kidney diseases.
Cabinet Secretary said the cabinet has also given approval in principle to the draft of "The Organ Transplantation (Amendment) Act, 2015" aimed at making the existing law more effective in the light of the High Court directives in 2011 and facilitate people to have the benefit of the advanced medical technology.
The cabinet has also cleared the draft of "The Cadet College (Amendment) Act-2015" amending the previous law enacted in 1964 and amended several times in 1976, 1978 and 1979 during the period of military regimes.
The Cadet College law has no substantial changes except the provision of bringing those institutions under the Department of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.
