Chinese Premier To Visit Bangladesh In September

Visiting Special Envoy of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China Chai Xi informed this during a call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Gonobhaban here this evening. He said the visit would take the relations between the two countries to new heights.

However, Chinese high level officials will start visiting Bangladesh marking the diplomatic relations this month through the visit of Vice Premier of China Liu Yandong on May 24-26, 2015.

Briefing reporters after the call on, PM's Press Secretary AKM Shameem Chowdhuri said the Prime Minister hoped that both the Chinese President and Prime Minister will visit Bangladesh to grace the programmes of the celebration of the diplomatic ties.

Special Envoy Chai Xi said China is keen to help Bangladesh for its economic development and strengthen ties between the two countries.

Chai Xi, a former ambassador of China to Bangladesh, praised excellent growth of Dhaka City over last 15 years. In this regard, he appreciated dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina hoping that Bangladesh would go far ahead under her leadership.

The envoy said people of Bangladesh are very intelligent and hardworking. However, stability and peace are very crucial for development, he said appreciating Bangladesh's support to China for regional development.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina emphasized a better regional connectivity hoping that the economic corridor proposed by China would connect Dhaka and Chittagong.

Pointing out the allocation of land in Chittaging for establishing a Special Chinese Economic Zone, the Prime Minister hoped that China would relocate its labour intensive factories to Bangladesh as much as possible.
