French Investors Keen to Work in Bangladesh: French Ambassador to PM

The Prime Minister welcomed the envoy to Bangladesh and gave her assurance of providing all possible help in discharging her duties, PM's press secretary AKM Shameem Chowdhuri said while briefing reporters after the meeting.

As the Prime Minister urged the envoy for more French investment in Bangladesh, Mrs Sophie said, many investors in France are aware about the investment potentials of Bangladesh and are keen to work in this country.

Sheikh Hasina recalled with gratitude the supports of French people and their intellectuals during the War of Liberation in 1971 and appreciated their help for the development of Bangladesh since independence.

They expressed satisfaction over the existing excellent relation between the two countries and hoped that the ties would further be extended in the days to come. Sheikh Hasina put emphasis on high level exchange of visits to further strengthen the ties.

The French envoy highly appreciated Bangladesh's Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for her leading role in the global initiatives to combat the adverse impacts of climate change. She said French is working with the Ministry of Environment and Forests to deal with the Climate Change issue.
