The minister said this while speaking as the chief guest at the concluding ceremony of the centenary celebration of Ramkrishna Mission High School at the school ground at Gopibagh in the city.

Dhaka Ramkrishna Math and Mission principal Swami Ameyananda Moharaj presided over the function, also addressed, among others, by a teacher of International Relations Department of Dhaka University and a former student of the school Prof Ramjul Huq, Joi Kali Mandir Committee general secretary Dr Dilip Kumar Roy and a former teacher of the school Bijoy Krishna Sarker.

Mohammad Nasim, also a member of ruling Awami League presidium, said, "The BNP-Jamaat combine can never win the people's hearts by torching people to death in the name of its siege-hartal programmes.

People's hearts can only be won by loving them. Bangabandhu's daughter and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has now been fighting against an evil force and she has been carrying out all the activities for people's welfare by loving the masses."

The senior Awami League leader said, "We are extending services to the people though politics and you are rendering people's services imparting lights of learning and other social-welfare activities. So, there is no difference between the mission's goal and objectives with that of ours."

Mohammad Nasim prayed for salvation of the departed souls of those pilgrims killed in the Friday's stampede incident at Nangalbandh in Narayanganj and hoped for early recovery of those injured of the incident.

Ramkrishna Mission High school, one of the oldest institutions of the country, was established on November 8 in 1914.
