Nepal, Bhutan, Maldives Ministers Praise Bangladesh's Progress In Digitisation

The appreciation came when Nepalese Minister for Information and Communications Dr. Minendra Rijal, Bhutanese Minister for Information and Communications Lyonpo D N Dhungyel and Deputy Minister of Home of the Maldives Ahmed Siddiq paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban Office this evening.

After the meeting, Prime Minister's Press Secretary A K M Shameem Chowdhuri briefed reporters.

The three ministers of neighbouring countries said Bangladesh has made stunning progress in digitisation under able and dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

"The steps taken by the government brought about huge development and accelerated socioeconomic uplift which is very much commendable," they said.

They also lauded the Bangladesh Prime Minister for her success in advancing the country's economy.

Terming poverty as the main enemy in the region, the Prime Minister stressed the need for working together to fight it.

Sheikh Hasina also recalled with gratitude the contribution of Nepal and Bhutan to the War of Liberation in 1971.

The three ministers on behalf of their respective leaderships invited the Prime Minister to visit their respective countries.
