"The Jamaat-BNP nexus brutally killed numerous people and destroyed huge property across the country in 2013 by carrying out terrible rampage," she said.
In its continuation, she said, 16 people were killed and 55 others injured in Satkhira district in the violence and rampage unleashed by Jamaat-Shibir and BNP.
The Prime Minister said this in reply to a question raised by Workers Party lawmaker Meer Mostaq Ahmed Robi (Satkhira-2). The Leader of the House said financial assistance was provided by the government among the 83 relatives of the killed and the injured.
Besides, she said, assistance for treatment was given to the injured and of them, two persons named Anisur Rahman and Abdul Wahab died at their homes after receiving treatment at the hospitals.
Sheikh Hasina said financial help has been provided from the Prime Minister's Relief and Welfare Fund to the families of the killed and injured and others affected in the Jamaat-Shibir and BNP violence in Satkhira.
