The Digital World-2014 fair, a big information technology event, will be arranged by the Information and Communication Technology Division.
The event will be implemented by Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) in association with Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) and A2I programme of the Prime Minister's office.
State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Junaid Ahmed Palak said this at a press conference held at Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) auditorium here today.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to inaugurate the event and Prime Minister's Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Advisor Sajib Wazed Joy will be present as the special guest at the event.
On the occasion of the ICT event, the government has taken an initiative to invite some international personalities of the Information Technology (IT) sector.
Alongside the IT display, the event also will include seminars, workshops, IT career fair , soft expo, E-Governance expo, Mobile Innovation expo, E-commerce and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) programme and Women IT Forum and Children forum also will be included in the event as a new one.
Besides this, ministerial conference, comprising the ministers of different countries, also will be held during the event.
Bangladesh Computer Samity (BCS), Association of Mobile Telecom Operators Bangladesh (AMTOB), Internet Service Providers Association of Bangladesh (ISPAB), Bangladesh Association of Call Centre and Outsourcing (BACCO), Bangladesh ICT Journalist Forum (BIJF), Bangladesh Women in IT (BWIT) and CTO forum also will assist the event.
High officials of the ICT department including ICT secretary Shayam Sundar Sikder, BCC's executive director SM Ashraful Islam, A2I project director of the Prime Minister's Office Kabir Bin Anwar, Managing Director of High Tech Park Hosen Ara Begum and BASIS Acting Director Rasel T Ahmed,among others, were present at the press conference.
