Published on November 18, 2014The 400 KV transmission line involving Taka 853.68 crore will supply power through Rampura 230/132 KV power sub-station.
Under the project, there will be a 70 kilometer Ashuganj-Bhulta 400 KV dual circuit transmission line, Bhulta Haripur-Rampura 230 KV dual circuit line-in and line-out of 3 kilometer, Bhulta Ghorashal-Rampura 230 KV dual circuit line-in and line-out of 1 kilometer and construction of a Bhulta (Narayanganj) 400/230 KV, 2x250 MVA AIS substation construction.
The approval at the ECNEC meeting held at the NEC conference room in the city's Sher-e-Bangla Nagar with ECNEC chairperson and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.
Planning Minister A H M Mustafa Kamal, after the meeting, told reporters that ECNEC approved a total of seven development projects including the transmission line with the outlay of Taka 1353.46 crore.
"Of the total project cost, the government will provide Taka 1102.64 crore from the national exchequer while the organization concerned will contribute Taka 250.82 crore from own fund," he added.
Out of the seven projects, three are fresh while the remaining are revised projects.
State Minister for Finance and Planning M A Mannan, the Planning Division Secretary and the members of Planning Commission were present at the briefing.
Power Grid Company of Bangladesh Limited (PGCB) is entrusted to implement the "Ashuganj-Bhulta 400 KV Transmission Line Project" by June 2017.
The Planning Minister said the government will give Taka 637.85 crore from the state exchequer while PGCB will provide Taka 215.82 crore from it's own fund for the transmission line project.
He said the government has a plan to set up 800 KV transmission line there in future.
The day's ECNEC also gave nod to another project titled "construction of Madan-Khaliazuri Submergible Road and PC Girder Bridge on River Balai on the 37th kilometer on Netrokona-Madan-Khaliazuri road" with Taka 104.01 crore.
Mustofa Kamal said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina during her visit to the area in 2010 had pledged to build this Submergible road and PC Girder Bridge.
Roads and Highways Department will implement the project by June 2017.
The other new approved project is "Renovation and modernization of Bangladesh Institute of Marine Technology (2nd phase)" with an outlay of Taka 55.48 crore.
The four other revised approved projects are construction of a fashion design, training institute and one basic center for development of hand loom textile, 2nd revised (Taka 38.40 crore), construction of 60 investigation centers of Bangladesh Police into Type Plan, 1st revised (Taka 174.46 crore), construction of hostel for the visually challenged children, 1st revised (Taka 54.93 crore) and Modernization and strengthening the Department of Inspection of Factories and Establishments & Establishment of nine district offices, 1st revised (Taka 72.50 crore).
Besides, the ECNEC approved the change of a title of a project styled "Coastal Towns Environmental Infrastructure Project (CTEIP)" previously known as "Coastal Towns Infrastructure Improvement Project (CTIIP)".
The Ministers, the State Ministers, the Planning Commission members and Secretaries concerned attended the meeting.
