Dr Poonam Khetrapal Singh, regional director for South-East Asia of WHO, will confer the “South-East Asia Region Award for Excellence in Public Health”, introduced for the first time this year, at a reception tomorrow.
Health Minister Mohammed Nasim made the announcement while briefing the reporters about the preparations of four-day South-East Asia Regional conference of WHO beginning tomorrow.
The WHO appointed Saima Wazed Hossain as adviser to its Expert Advisory Panel on mental health in June this year. Saima as the chairperson of the National Advisory Committee on Autism in Bangladesh, played critical role in creating South Asian Autism Network (SAAN).
