Digitization of Land Records: A giant leap towards digital Bangladesh

Headed by the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) extended the tenure of the land digitization process by two more years with an additional allocation of TK 927.8 million. With the completion of the revised 'Formulation and Conservation of Land Survey and Records through Digital Method” in mid 2016, land owners can each get printed copies of Mouza map for some 4,58,43,404 mutations (Khatians) from the land offices in 55 districts. Earlier, in 2012 ECNEC approved the project for two years endorsing TK 559.8 million to facilitate easy preservation of the ledgers and their distribution to owners.
