PM Hosts Iftar For Judges, Officials And Diplomats

The Prime Minister went round different tables set for the guests, exchanged pleasantries with them and enquired about their well-being.

Before the iftar, a special munajat was offered seeking continued peace, progress and prosperity of the nation. Khatib of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque Moulana M Salauddin Ahmed conducted the munajat.

Prayers were also offered seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib and other victims of August 15 massacre, martyrs of War of Liberation and heroes of the democratic movements.

Chief Justice M Muzammel Hossain, eminent autism expert and Prime Minister's daughter Saima Hossain Putul, LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Syed Ashraful Islam, Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali, Law Minister Anisul Haque, Prime Minister's advisors HT Imam, Dr Moshiur Rahman, Dr Tawfique-e-Elahi Chowdhury and Major General (retd) Tarique Ahmed Siddique, State Minister for Public Administration Ismat Ara Sadeq, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam, Cabinet Secretary M Musharraf Hossain Bhuiyan, Chief of Army Staff General Iqbal Karim Bhuiyan, Chief of Naval Staff Vice-Admiral M Farid Habib, Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Muhammad Enamul Bari, Attorney General Mahbubey Alam, PM's Principal Secretary Abdus Sobhan Sikdar, PM's Press Secretary AKM Shamim Chowdhury and Dean of Diplomatic Corps Shaher Mohammad, judges of the Supreme Court and High Court and secretaries concerned also attended the iftar.

Besides, Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmad, Chairman of National Human Rights Commission Dr Mizanur Rahman, Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr Atiur Rahman, IGP Hasan Mahmud Khandakar and Chief Editor and Managing Director of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) Abul Kalam Azad joined the iftar, among others.

Ambassadors, high commissioners, charges d' affaires and heads of missions of different countries attended the iftar.
