PM Pays Tribute To Bangabandhu On Awami League’s 65th Anniversary

After laying the wreath, the Prime Minister stood in solemn silence for some time as a mark of respect to the memory of Bangabandhu, the architect of independence. Flanked by senior and central leaders of the party, Sheikh Hasina, also the president of Bangladesh Awami League, placed another wreath at the portrait of Bangabandhu on behalf of her party.

Awami League Advisory Council members Tofail Ahmed and Advocate Yusuf Hossain Humayun, AL Presidium members Begum Matia Chowdhury, Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim, Abdul Latif Siddiqui and Advocate Sahara Khatun, General Secretary Syed Ashraful Islam, Joint Secretary Dr Dipu Moni, Publicity and Publications Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud and other central leaders of the party were present on the occasion.

Later, Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the 65th founding anniversary programmes of Bangladesh Awami League by hoisting national flag as well as releasing pigeons and balloons, while party general secretary Syed Ashraful raised the party flag. The national anthem was sung on the occasion.
