Bangladesh-Cambodia Signed Four Instruments To Boost Bilateral Ties

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and visiting Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen witnessed the signing ceremony at the Prime Minister's Office after the official talks.

The first agreement on the Establishment of a Joint Commission for Promoting Bilateral Cooperation between Bangladesh and Cambodia was inked by Deputy Prime Minister of Cambodia and also the Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Hor Namhong and State Minister for Foreign Affairs M Shahriar Alam. Later, they exchanged the document.

Then the agreement for the Promotion and Reciprocal Protection of Investments between Bangladesh and Cambodia was signed by Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu and Minister Attached to Prime Minister and Secretary General of Cambodian Council for Development Sok Chenda Sophea on behalf of the Royal government of Cambodia.

The third agreement on Cultural Cooperation between Bangladesh and Cambodia was penned by Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor and Cambodia Minister for Culture and Fine Arts Mrs Phoeurng Sackona.

The lone Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Scientific and Technical Cooperation in the Field of Agriculture was signed by Agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury and Cambodian Minister for Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Ouk Rabun.

Besides, Deputy Prime Minister of Cambodia and also the Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Hor Namhong and State Minister for Foreign Affairs M Shahriar Alam signed the 17-point Joint Statement.
