She expressed the hope while replying to the questions of different Chinese media following a seminar on “Socio-Economic Achievements of Bangladesh in Recent Years and Partnership with China” held in Beijing on Monday morning.
She said the visit will also open up a new avenue for economic and political cooperation.
“It's a big achievement of my visit to China,” she said, adding that from now on, bilateral trade, investment and exchange of culture would get more importance than ever,” she said.
China Institute of International Studies (CIIS) organised the seminar at its office in the Chinese capital aimed at highlighting the profound transformation of Bangladesh in socio-economic and political areas.
The Prime Minister said Bangladesh has lent its support to the proposal of China for establishing 'Bangladesh-India-China-Myanmar Economic Corridor (BICM-EC)' which was once popular as
'Silk Route' as it would improve the connectivity in the region benefiting the people of all countries including Nepal and Bhutan.
Appreciating the Chinese rapid economic and infrastructural growth within a very short span of time, Sheikh Hasina said she is highly impressed with the recent development of China. “Bangladesh has many things to learn from China,” she added.
Acting president of CIIS Ruan Zongze, who is also a former diplomat, in his welcome address gave a brief political career of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina along with highlighting Bangladesh's stunning successes in various sectors under her dynamic leadership.
Zongze praised the Prime Minister's commitment to materialising her “Vision-2021 up to 2041” to turn Bangladesh into a developed, prosperous and peaceful country.
Journalists from Peoples Daily, Shen Zhen Television and faculty members of China Communication University (CCU) were, among others, took part in the very interactive question-answer session where the Bangladesh Prime Minister portrayed her vision for Bangladesh's progress and improving Sino-Bangla relations in the areas of trade, investment, communications and people-to-people contact.
Members of CIIS, a large number of former students who studied in Bangla language at the Modern Language Institute of Dhaka University and students of the both countries studying in Bangla and Chinese in different educational institutions and officials were also present.
