Historic Six-Point Day Observed

Bangladesh Awami League organized various programs to mark the day. The day began with hoisting of national flag and flag of Bangladesh Awami league atop party offices across the country and at Bangabandhu Bhaban in Dhanmondi at dawn.

On Saturday morning, Deputy Leader of the House and Awami League Senior Presidium Member Begum Sajeda Chowdhury placed the wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu on behalf of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at 7 am.

Later, Awami League General Secretary Syed Ashraful Islam along with the others senior party colleagues placed wreaths on behalf of the party marking the historic day.

Awami League Presidium Member Advocate Sahara Khatun, Joint General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif, Organising Secretary Ahmed Hossain and office secretary Abdus Sobhan Golap, among others, were present.

Later, leaders and activists of City Awami League, Chhatra League, Jubo League, Krishak League, Mohila Awami League, Swechchasebak League, Bangabandhu Parishad, Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote, Motor Chalok League, Bangabandhu Shilpi Gosthi, among others, placed wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu.
Meanwhile, Awami League organized a seminar at Engineers’ Institution to mark the day. Senior Presidium Member and Deputy Leader of the house Begum Sajeda Chowdhury presided at the seminar where General Secretary Syed Ashraful Islam, Presidium Member Advocate Sahara Khatun, Joint Secretary Mahbub Ul Alam Hanif, Organizing Secretary Ahmed Hossain were present amongst other speakers.
Bangabandhu Parishad organised the discussion at its central office at Kalabagan in the capital marking the historic six-point day (7 June). Dhaka University Teachers' Association leader Prof Dr Akhteruzzaman and Bangabandhu Parishad leaders Advocate Abdus Salam, Advocate Deedar Ali and Mohammad Shahidullah were the discussants.

Earlier, Bangabandhu Cultural Alliance organized a seminar at its central office. President of the Central Committee of the organization Tarana Halim MP presided the program where ATM Shamsuzzaman, Syed Hasan Imam, Piyush Bandopaddhay, Dr. Enamul Hoq, Khayrul Anam Sabuj, Tipu Munshi MP, Poet Halim Azad, general Secretary Arun Sarkar Rana were the discussants.

Ex-BSL Foundation organized a seminar at Conference Lounge, National Press Club to mark the historic 6-Points Day. President of the foundation Nur E alam Siddiqui presided the seminar where M A Rashid, Abul HAsan Chowdhury Khaled and Ahmed Ali were among the speakers.
