Japan Will Always Be With Bangladesh: PM

She said these during a press conference at Ganabhaban over her 4-day visit to Japan. In the press briefing, Sheikh Hasina underscored the friendly relations between Japan and Bangladesh. She also stated the progressive initiatives of Japan to us.

Premier said Japan promised to provide some six-billion dollars for the development of the country where the total aid was only around 11.20 billion dollars earlier.

She also met with the Emperor of Japan Akihito and Prime Minister of the country Shinzo during her visit and fixed many bilateral deeds.

She invited the leaders to visit Bangladesh and they hoped to do so.

Japan also showed interests in many development projects in Bangladesh, she added. During her visit, a 21-point manifesto was signed by the both country.

Prime Minister further said Japan is likely to help in 1300-Megawatt electricity power plant in Bangladesh. Moreover, Rail Bridge, roads’ development and other projects will be fruitful with the help of Japan, she added.

She said Japanese Premier reassured that it will recruit labors from Bangladesh to build infrastructures during the Para-Olympic in Japan.

She also said, “We are working for peace rather war.” Answering other queries of journalists she criticized the activities of BNP-Jamaat.

She hoped that the initiatives of the government will be welcomed by the mass.

Awami League General Secretary Syed Ashraful Islam and Deputy Leader of the House Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury were among others present at the press conference.
