"Among nearly 500 candidates, 22 local IT talents passed the 2nd ITEE that gave them a global recognition to their IT skills and knowledge," Dr. Sk. Amzad Hossain, Project Director of BD-ITEC said when announcing the authorized result of 2nd ITEE at Computer Council today.

He hoped that the certificate of ITEE would help the local Bangladeshi IT professionals to get international jobs around the globe.

The ITEE is basically a national standardized examination of Japan for IT professionals where five to six lakh IT students and IT professionals attended every year.

Nearly 500 local IT professionals and students sat for second ITEE, held at Curzon Hall, University of Dhaka (DU), Computer Science and Engineering Department, BUET and Rajshahi University on April 27 last to get a global recognition of their IT skills.

On the same day, the ITEE was held in the six ITPEC member countries (Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam) simultaneously on same question paper.

Bangladesh IT-engineers Examination Centre (BD-ITEC) under Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Ministry introduced the examination in the country under a project titled Capacity Building on ITEE Management with the help of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

One of the objectives of introducing ITEE in the country is to give international branding to Bangladesh IT professionals. The ITEE is promoted by IT Professionals Examination Council (ITPEC) in Asian region.

Bangladesh was placed second among seven Asian countries in its maiden international standarized IT Engineers Examination (ITEE) last year. BD-ITEC is going to conduct the next IT Engineers Examination on October this year. A Japanese experts team along with the Ministry and BD-ITEC officials monitored the examinations.
