Japan Accorded Red Carpet Reception To PM

A VVIP flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying the Prime Minister and members of her entourage landed at Haneda International Airport at 1 pm local time (10.00 am Bangladesh time).

Bangladesh Ambassador to Japan Masud Bin Momen and Japanese Ambassador to Bangladesh Shiro Sadoshima welcomed Sheikh Hasina
at the airport.

After a warm welcome at the airport, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in a ceremonial motorcade was taken to Akasaka Palace, a state guesthouse at Motoakasaka, Minato in Tokyo where she will be staying during the visit.

Shigeyuki Hiroki, chief of Protocol of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan received Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Akasaka Palace.

On the way to Akasaka Palace from Haneda International Airport both sides of the roads were decorated with the national flags of the two countries, festoons and miniature flags welcoming Bangladesh Prime Minister and wishing longstanding relation between Dhaka and Tokyo.

A large number of Bangladesh nationals living in Japan were present at the airport to welcome the Prime Minister.

Prime Minister left Dhaka in the early hours of today for Japan in her first official visit after taking office in January last. On the way to Tokyo, the Premier took a one and half hours stopover in Hong Kong.
