To achieve this goal government has outlaid 300 million Taka from FY 2009-2010 to date. In 2006, only 45 percent people had access to pure drinking water which increased to 50 percent in 2007.

After taking office in 2009, AL government has been able to provide this most important lifeline to the people of one of the most disaster-prone areas of Bangladesh.

During the current fiscal year, government provided drinking water to more than ten thousand recipients in Pirozpur municipal area.

In rural areas 540 sources of water have been set up which cost 30.74 million Taka. Among these, deep and shallow tube wells, purifying mere water and preserving rain water projects have been completed in the fiscal year.
