4.5 Million Illiterate People Will Be Provided Basic Literacy And Marketable Skills

A total amount of 452 crore takas has been allocated for the program which will be implemented in 250 upazilas, covering 64 districts of the country. This was disclosed by the minister for primary and mass education, Mostafizur Rahman, at a seminar on non-formal education today.

Government is also taking steps to ensure quality education. Besides, it would take up special programs for 'drop-outs'. The government would enact a law to this effect very soon.

The government is also eager to provide technical education to the children of primary stage as 20 percent of them drops out every year.

Government looks up to integrate the existing one lakh and four thousand private education institutions that are operating in the country along with the 62 thousand and eight hundred government education institutions into the universal education program.
