“The dream will be turned into reality soon. We’ll be able to implement the dream project by the next three and a half years,” he said while visiting the Mawa Padma bridge area here on Saturday morning.
He said an amount of Tk 2,042 crore has already been allocated for the project which will be used by January next.
The Planning Minister mentioned that five packages: Jajira approach, Mawa approach road, accommodation, main bridge and river control have been taken for implementing the project. Communications Minister Obaidul Quder was also present during the visit.
Communications Minister said the main work of Padma Bridge would start in the current financial year. He said we should not wait for approach road after construction of main bridge. So, we are constructing approach road before the construction of main bridge. He hoped the main work of construction of the bridge will start by June this year.
Secretaries of different ministries, Deputy Commissioner(DC), project officials involved in construction of approach road and other high officials were present during the visit.
