The evil design, backed by many foreign financial assistance including some western countries, would certainly push the country to a complete anarchy deviating Bangladesh from its fundamental principles and the spirit of independence, the meeting said.

The meeting called upon the party leaders and workers to make people aware about the conspiracy of the religious fundamentalist groups to save the country from any probable disaster.

Prime Minister and president of Bangladesh Awami League Sheikh Hasina presided over the meeting while general secretary also LGRD and Cooperative Minister Syed Ashraful Islam spoke on the current political situation and organisational matters.

Syed Ashraful Islam said, some religion-based organizations are getting funds from London based NGO Muslim Aid to motivate the Muslims and spread religious fanaticism.

He said, the youth outfits of those religion-based organizations have captured the blogs of wide-circulated newspapers of the county and regularly posting and sharing comments and opinions against the country's secular and progressive politics.

By doing this they want to gain political ground in Bangladesh by misguiding people in the name of religion, he said urging the party workers and people of the country to remain alert against their activities.

The ALCWC chalked out programmes to observe the Bangla New Year Pahela Boishak ,Mujib Nagar Day on April 17, May Day and Birth anniversary of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam.
