PM returns home after attending BIMSTEC Summit-2014

The summit of the seven-nation regional body of South Asia and South East Asia was held at the Myanmar International Conference Centre in the Myanmar capital of Nay Pyi Taw today.
The BIMSTEC (Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation) groups Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Thailand.
A Biman flight carrying the Prime Minister and members of her entourage landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport here at 9.10 pm.
Deputy Leader of the House Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury, Railway Minister Mujibul Haque, PM's Principal Secretary Abdus Sobhan Sikdar and high civil and military officials were present at the airport to receive the Premier.
Sheikh Hasina, who led a 32-member Bangladesh delegation to the summit, addressed in its inaugural session this morning.
On the sidelines of the summit, she held bilateral meetings with Myanmar President Thein Sien, Indian Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa and Nepalese Prime Minister Sushil Koirala.
She also met Speaker of Myanmar Parliament Shwe Mann and Myanmar Opposition Leader and Chairman of National League for Democracy Aung San Suu Kyi.
The Premier joined a press conference of all heads of state and government of the BIMSTEC nations. She also attended a dinner hosted by Myanmar President Thein Sien.
