Sheikh Hasina, also the Awami League chief, said this while addressing a workers' meeting of her party at Joy Sadan, her father-in-law's house, in Fatehpur Union in Peerganj here this afternoon.

The Prime Minister also said that the anger of the opposition leader on Gopalganj also proved the fact that she (Khaleda Zia) could not kill me through the 21st August grenade attack. "Khaleda Zia plotted to kill me through the grisly grenade attack. It is her big sorrow that she could not kill me," she said.

Sheikh Hasina said Begum Zia's son and ministers were involved in the attack that killed 22 AL leaders and workers including Ivy Rahman. "How Begum Zia would prove that she was not involved in the attack?" she asked.

Coming down heavily on the BNP-led oppositions for their terrorist acts in the name of movement to resist the January 5 10th parliament polls, the Prime Minister said the people want election as it is a natural process that election would be held after five years.

"The killers of 1971, '75 and BDR carnage have become united. Khaleda Zia's main task is to kill people and play a game with their blood," she said. Sheikh Hasina said both General Zia and Begum Zia rehabilitated the killers of Bangabandhu by giving them jobs in the foreign ministry and Bangladesh missions abroad. Begum Zia's advisor Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury, while serving in the foreign office, helped the Bangbandhu's killers to flee the country, she said.

Referring to Begum Khaleda Zia's March for Democracy Programme announced for December 29 and 30 to resist the national polls, Sheikh Hasina said the people had rejected it by not responding to her call.

Who is to be blamed for not responding to Khaleda Zia's call?" she asked and also pointed to a fact that Begum Zia urged the people to gather in front of her office at Naya Paltan at 10 am on December 29 but she herself started for the venue at 4 pm on that day.

The Prime Minister called upon the people to help materialize the Vision 2021 to build Bangladesh as a developed country by casting vote for Awami League in the upcoming polls.

Peerganj Upazila AL President Motaharul Haque Bablu, Pachgachhi Union AL Kahirul Islam Lovelu and Bara Dargah Union AL President Sayedul Islam Dula also spoke at the workers' meeting.

Earlier, the Prime Minister offered ziarat at the graves of Dr MA Wazed Miah and her other relatives.

On her return to Syedpur Airport from Peerganj, the Prime Minister got down from her jeep and saw the areas where a huge number of trees were cut by the BNP-led oppositions during their movement.

She expressed her deep concern at the enmasse felling of the trees and ordered the authorities concerned to bring the culprits to book.
