Published on December 21, 2013The government and Thailand-based contractor Ital-Thai Development Public Company Ltd signed the “revised concession deal” in 17th December 2013 to build the DEE under public-private partnership.
Bangladesh Bridges Authority in January 2011 had entered into a concession agreement with the Ital-Thai to build the DEE.
Main part of the DEE would be 20km long while the ramp would be 27km. starting from February next year, the three phase project will take three and a half years to complete, according to the deal.
As per the revised final route of the expressway, it will commence at Shahjalal International Airport and pass by Kuril, Banani, Mohakhali, Tejgaon, Moghbazar, Khilgaon, Kamlapur, Sayedabad, Jatrabari and Kutubkhali on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway.
