After placing the wreaths, the Prime Minister stood in solemn silence for some time beside the coffin as a mark of respect to the memory of Zohra Tajuddin. Later, flanked by central leaders of the party, Sheikh Hasina, also the AL President, laid another wreath on the coffin of the late Awami League leader as the party chief. A munajat was offered seeking eternal peace of the departed soul of Zohra Tajuddin, also the wife of country's first Prime Minister Tajuddin Ahmed.
Former Advisor to the Prime Minister HT Imam, Senior AL leaders Amir Hossain Amu, Tofail Ahmed, engineer Mosharaf Hossain, Satish Chandra Roy, Dr Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir, Syed Ashraful Islam, Dr Abdur Razzaque and PM's Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad, among others, were present on the occasion.
Later, leaders of associate organizations of Awami League including Jubo league, Chhatra League, Sramik League, Secchasebak League, Mohila Awami League, Dhaka City Awami League, placed wreaths on the coffin.
Earlier, the Prime Minister visited the United Hospital to see the body of Zohra Tajuddin. She stayed there for sometime and consoled the family members of Zohra Tajuddin. Zohra Tajuddin died at city's United Hospital this morning at the age of 80.
