During the meeting that lasted from 6:25 pm to 7:33pm, the Prime Minister apprised the President of the overall situation of the country, President\'s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim said at a press briefing.
Sheikh Hasina also enquired about the health condition of the President as he returned home on Friday after undergoing medical checkup and eye treatment in Singapore.
The President and Prime Minister discussed the President\'s South Africa visit to pay respect to the memories of legendary leader Nelson Mandela.
President Abdul Hamid will leave here for South Africa tomorrow to pay last respect to Nelson Mandela on behalf of himself and people of Bangladesh. Many heads of state and government are scheduled to go to South Africa to pay their respects to the towering figure.
The Prime Minister was accompanied by LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Syed Ashraful Islam.
On her arrival at Bangabhaban, the Prime Minister was received by the President. Secretaries and high officials of both the President and Prime Minister\'s offices were present.
